R2 Server Migration - Friday, September 15th @ 10 PM ET [GMT-4]

Recommended Posts

Hello!

We are scheduling a maintenance window for the R2 server on Friday, September 15th at 10 PM ET [GMT-4] to move the server to our new storage platform. We are scheduling this window from 10 PM ET to 2 AM ET and we expect the downtime related to this maintenance to be 2 to 3 hours at most.

We will be keeping this thread here on our forums up-to-date as we perform the migration and will answer any and all questions you may have about the migration process here or directly in response to the email I will be sending out shortly to all affected clients.

While we do apologize for the length of this maintenance window we are sure that you will be happy with the end result. We have had numerous clients reach out to us after we migrated the R3 server last week to thank us for the upgrade and even a few that only knew it happened because everything was dramatically faster.

Should you wish to see more details on why we're performing these migrations as well as some graphs illustrating the performance gains - they can be seen here.

Hello, similarly to the folks on P1 Server, I too have been noticing an increase in page load times and at least 2 Connection Timeouts (one 20min ago) since the migration of R2. Do you think this will get better?
