frankacter
Curious if any of the MDD hosting community has used varnish to sit between your apache/lutes we'd and your end users? How about in comparison to litespeed cache?
frankacter
Came across this thread suggesting litespeed cache is significantly faster than using varnish http://www.litespeedtech.com/support/forum/showthread.php?t=4603 Anyone on Mdd using litespeed cache? Michael D.
LiteSpeed cache has to be enabled per-script or site and isn't something we have enabled. It's required to use a 2 CPU license to use the caching feature and we operate using 1 CPU licenses. Now don't misunderstand and think that if you have 8 cores you need an 8-CPU license. The only thing having an 8 CPU license over a 1 CPU license does is gives you 7 additional threads for serving static content. Our servers have no issues serving static content, so we've not seen a need to go with the higher CPU licenses. Varnish can make Apache quite fast, this is true, but we don't run Apache .
