CPU Usage

20 October 2012 - 02:29 AM

I noticed when I was installing Drupal Kickstart Commerce that my CPU usage went up to 75%. I'm going to finish the installation another day, but I was wondering if the CPU allowance resets every day. I thought I saw something about that in the TOS but when I tried to find it, I couldn't. And what should I do if I try to resume the install and the usage goes even higher? I don't think it should since I'll be finishing the instillation rather than going through the whole process. Since Kickstart is several Drupal items in one I could possibly delete it and install the different components one by one to make it less taxing.

Thanks,

New Site

17 October 2012 - 08:39 PM

I just joined MDDH and my site has to be built from the ground up. How can I keep it offline until it's built? I know there's a way to do it with HTML tags, but I'll be using a CSM and won't be messing with the actual coding.

Thanks,

Transfer or Namesever?

16 October 2012 - 09:50 PM

From what I understand, it's better to have the webhost and domain registrar separate I have a domain from NameCheap and when I went to sign up for MDDH, I saw the options. I'm not sure if I should transfer my domain or "I will use my existing domain and update my nameservers". The "update" option sounds like what everyone has recommended, but I'm not sure. And what's a namesever?

Concrete5

13 September 2012 - 06:52 PM

Does anyone use Concrete5? It was suggested that I use a CMSs rather than a website builder with MDDHosting, and Concrete5 seems like a good one. I can find a bunch of reviews for it, but does anyone who has MDDHosting use Concrete5?

Also, I read a post on these forums (I think) that CMSs can be resource hogs. What resources? Mine (personal computer) or the hosts?
