Hi Mike, I got my Canon 30D about 4.5 years ago, and 7D 1.5 years ago, and I can say I don't think I've been humbled so much with anything else but this photography stuff. It's not the cameras or the lenses; they are great. For me it is getting to stop long enough to compose and steady the shot. A few tips: 1) shoot in RAW for the most flexibility later, 2) try to learn to shoot in manual mode, 3) get some decent catalog and retouching software like Lightroom, 4) don't forget to stop and enjoy the moments outside the viewfinder (have fun)!
