  1. This story came out a few days ago about Bluehost, DreamHost, Hostgator, OVH and iPage being vulnerable to account takeovers. They were fixed in about 48 hours, but it was interesting to see how some lax coding could have allowed these attacks to take place.
  2. Mike, is it safe for me to assume my Cpanel login on S3 won't work the server restore is complete? Just want to make sure it's not a bad password. Guess it's just luck of the draw being a client for 8 years but being on a newer server Oh well, just means it's less busy I suppose. Thanks!
  3. Updates from staff are being posted in another thread: https://forums.mddhosting.com/topic/1582-major-outage-092118-09242018/ This thread is just for discussion
  4. I have no way to test this since my site on S3 is still down, but you should be able to put this in the .htaccess file in /www <FilesMatch "\.(css|flv|gif|htm|html|ico|jpe|jpeg|jpg|js|png|pdf|swf|txt)$"> <IfModule mod_expires.c> ExpiresActive Off </IfModule> <IfModule mod_headers.c> FileETag None Header unset ETag Header unset Pragma Header unset Cache-Control Header unset Last-Modified Header set Pragma "no-cache" Header set Cache-Control "max-age=0, no-cache, no-store, must-revalidate" Header set Expires "Mon, 10 Apr 1972 00:00:00 GMT" </IfModule> </FilesMatch> On a side-note, from any server that hasn't been restored yet, are any of you able to login to Cpanel or do we have to wait? Thanks
  5. Thank you for this information Mike. I was just about to post asking if the ETA was for full restoration of the server or if it was in between slow and fast backup stages. Been with you guys since Oct 2010 and everything (up til now) has been stellar.
  6. The outage time was listed as 14:28 - 14:50, what timezone would that be?
  7. I want to make backups of my site's database every few days via a cron job. What is the best way to go about doing this? I've founds some PHP scripts and some shell scripts that both look like promising. Would either one work on a shared account? Thanks
