Do you have plans to compensate customers for "pain and suffering"? Waiting up to 96 hours for a website to come back online is a little much to ask. As a developer, I have my customers calling me and asking about this. We could switch hosts, but wondering if you would give a refund, or how you plan to handle that situation.

Hey guys, Regarding the following lines inserted into my .htaccess files multiple times: RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/[0-9]+\..+\.cpaneldcv$ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/\.well-known/acme-challenge/.+$ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/\.well-known/pki-validation/[A-F0-9]{32}\.txt(?:\ Comodo\ DCV)?$ The AutoSSL / LetsEncrypt process needs to be able to verify the domain, and cpanel is just making sure that there aren't any rewrites going on that would break that process, right? Is there any reason why all this clutter couldn't be fixed by simply adding the following, once near the top (before any of the other rewrites are listed): RewriteRule ^/[0-9]+\..+\.cpaneldcv$ - [L] RewriteRule ^.well-known - [L] I'm just asking because if the .htaccess file has more than just a couple things going on, this automatic insertion of rewrite conditions makes such a mess that it can hardly be read.

I'm considering a reseller account, but even though there are demos and information on your website, I'd like to know more about how it works. For instance, if the reseller account is $35 a month, and I want to resell a basic shared hosting to my client, then do I keep all the money I get from my client, and my price is still $35 a month? I don't think this is right, but these are the kind of details I am interested in. Am I limited to what I can resell? Can I resell semi-dedicated accounts? Is the 25GB disk space the max disc space for all my clients combined? The basic shared hosting disk space is 5GB, so I would guess that the 25GB is just for my own use. Pricing. Would I get a discount when reselling so that I could resell the same service you offer, for the same price, and still make money? Do I handle all of my own technical support phone calls. I'd like to resell, but not necessarily have it branded as my own. Thanks for your answers. If you have other interesting details to share, please do!

I'm on demeter and use phpMyAdmin a lot. I've used it for years, and the version that is on demeter is super buggy. Multiple row deletes hang, stores procedures can be "invisible", and it doesn't seem to matter what browser I use. Any chance we can get an upgrade to the current stable version? I think it's 4.1.1. It can't be any worse, well let's hope not anyways.

I used header('X-Powered-By:') in an init type hook of the app, and the header is removed from all pages. Same effect as expose_php = Off (I think). The problem with VPS or dedicated is that it is expensive, and if a customer doesn't pass, the extra fee they have to pay is less than the cost of VPS/Dedicated. I've had success passing PCI compliance scans on shared hosts before. It's going to be a while before I handle this issue. That's why I didn't open up a support ticket.

I'm in the process of helping one of my customers pass their PCI compliance scan. They are currently failing due to PHP revealing information about itself, and in order to pass we need to use ServerSignature Off and ServerTokens Prod php_value expose_php Off . Normally on an Apache server, I'd put this in the .htaccess file, but this doesn't work on Litespeed. Anybody know of a solution for Litespeed?

Upgraded Hardware and Data Center Transfers
skunkbad replied to Michael D.'s topic in Server and Network Announcements
I just want to say good job and thank you. Even though I was working on my site, somehow it got transferred to the new datacenter without any loss of data (or at least I haven't noticed anything missing). I think it happened when I was at lunch or something... -

Sounds good. Couple of questions: 1) I was on Cypress before it died a couple of weeks ago. Does my site revert back to the state it was in before it was moved over to Fresco, or does the backup come from the current state of the site on Fresco? I've got my own backups just in case, but would like to be ready to upload if needed. 2) If Cypress is done tomorrow morning, does that mean requests for my site will start being served from that server right away, or is there some DNS propagation that will take place first? -

I know you were scheduled to start the move today. So, how's it going so far? -
Server Status Page Updated! (Read: Improved!)
skunkbad replied to Michael D.'s topic in Server and Network Announcements
How come the CPU values are so high? Demeter was showing 85%, and Cypress was at 52%. I think these values used to be less than 5%. Also, I checked the "speed test" on one of the servers, and it was terrible. ~600kb down. Are these values accurate? -
Can I use php_value inside htaccess to increase the max file upload size beyond 100MB? This is for a site on Fresco, and I think the site owner wants his customers to upload video. I don't even have any files that are bigger than 100MB, so I can't test it. Right now I have the max execution time set high enough to get the full 100MB, but that's all I've done.

[Completed] Cypress Raid Issue - Drive Failure
skunkbad replied to Michael D.'s topic in Server and Network Announcements
Mike, thanks for always letting us know what is going on. Even though all hosts have issues like this, I've never had another host keep me so well informed, and I think it's cool to know the little details (and the big details!). -
I've got an account on cypress, and tonight I was working on a customer's account on echo. In the last few days, both accounts had mysterious changes to the public_html file permissions. Mike was kind enough to let me know to change the file permissions to 755 when I asked what was going on with my account, and so I was able to correct the file permissions for my customer's account as soon as I noticed the 403 errors. What's odd is that this happened on both of the accounts, which are on separate servers, and the websites don't share any similar code. In fact, the files that I uploaded tonight were basic html files except for one, and it is just a super simple sitemap generator. It's only got 33 lines of code with one php function: filemtime(). I connect only with FTPeS, and I use FileZilla3 for my FTP client. I don't store my passwords, and I am pretty confident that I don't have a virus on my computer, or any computer on my network. I've been using FileZilla for a long time, but thought that perhaps it just went crazy on me, so I copied the log, and searched to see if it had changed the file permissions. Didn't see a thing... Since I know how to fix the problem, it isn't super critical, but makes me nervous about what could be wrong. Has anyone else had this problem? What's going on?

Hey Mike, I've got a customer who tried to purchase an intermediate shared hosting plan today. He got an error at checkout that says: I sent him to your site through my affiliate link, because I'd like the credit. I tried to call you, but it's after hours for MDD. It's kind of important that I get his account set up before tomorrow morning, and I don't know what to do. We don't know if the hosting plan has been purchased, because the screenshot he sent to me says there is a Due Invoices Balance, but the order was blocked. Should I just try to re-purchase the account? If I purchase the account after hours, is it not set up until the next business day?
