Michael D.
Sorry about that guys, we do all make mistakes (typos being the king of mistakes when it comes to server administration). The technician responsible for the mistake will be reprimanded.

Sites were not even literally down, just a default webpage (cgi) page appeared. Was it a .htaccess problem?

Was it a .htaccess problem?A typo was made in the httpd.conf, but in reality the technician shouldn't have even been editing the httpd.conf directly, so I'm going to discuss this with them personally once I'm in the office. Michael D.
SITE DOWN AGAIN -- please help. stjohn-fisher.com --As I told you in your ticket - we were restoring an account on the server which normally does not impact service at all. For whatever reason it caused performance issues so we had to stop the restoration. I do apologize for the 3 minutes of downtime.Gemini (gemini.supportedns.com) is UP again at 07/01/2011 07:11:18PM, after 3m of downtime. SFDigital
SITE DOWN AGAIN -- please help. stjohn-fisher.com -- Thank you for addressing this so quickly; this is the reason we've written so much great stuff about MDD -- you guys are usually on it. We are just a half hour away from showcasing to executives, so the heart was racing and panic was settling in. It's been a wild day. Thank you!! Michael D.
Thank you for addressing this so quickly; this is the reason we've written so much great stuff about MDD -- you guys are usually on it. We are just a half hour away from showcasing to executives, so the heart was racing and panic was settling in. It's been a wild day. Thank you!!No problem, keep in mind that it is a shared platform and not a high availability setup and there is the possibility that others on the server would impact your service. We do our best to keep this from happening and we react fast (within seconds, usually long before you can open a ticket or dial our number) so when there are issues they tend to be resolved quickly. We can't promise there won't be issues but we can promise when there are, we will be there to fix it as quickly as possible.
