Drupal 7

Hello MDDHosting,

I'm looking to migrate from sites my current shared hosting to a host that's better suited to building sites with Drupal 7.

Here are a couple of questions about Drupal 7 and it's PHP requirements:

  •
  • 5.3 is recommended, 5.2.5+ is required
  • memory_limit of at least 64MB+ (128MB may be a future requirement for a media rich site)
  • PHP extensions Hash and JSON
  • XML extension
  • GD library
  • register_globals: off
  • error_reporting set to E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE
  • safe_mode: off
  • PHP Data Objects (PDO) must be activated for Drupal 7 to install and run correctly
  • session.cache_limiter: nocache

Some other questions:

  •
  • I've created a test web disk in your shared demo cPanel. I'm on a Mac (10.6.7) and have an error connecting, is this an issue or something that work outside of a demo?
  • I've never used a cPanel web disk, webdav, is this much like DropBox or iDisk? (i currently use both)
  • Email server: currently i'm getting quite a bit of spam and i'm suspecting spoofing, are there measures I can take with your service that could counter some or all of these types of concerns?
  • Please go over a typical backup routine using your hosting service. Are users able to restore their own backups?
  • What's the process of transferring from my previous host to yours? (emails, databases, addon domains, etc.)
  • What type of sites do you NOT allow? Are there different restrictions on shared vs. dedicated?
  • Is IP.Board included? :)

Thanks so much for your time, I'm looking forward to your response.
