Lower Fixed Bar Coding!

This code might be of interest to some. I have combined a script off dynamic drive to create a collapsable lower screen bar. The bar is fixed and can be shown or hidden by clicking a link. The link is also fixed and shows ontop of the lower bar. Any type of content can be added to it. I am currently showing the latest forum posts on my own site by displaying a mysql query page through an iframe. You can also adjust the transparency of the bar to suit your needs.

 

There are bars you can get for free - Skysa or Wibiya - but they have never really satisfied my requirements. This code might well be useful to you too. Just right click the files and view source.

 

Plain version with dark backgrounds and 70% transparency:

Iframe version (needs some work to tidy the code a bit) with transparency deactivated on this one but does work if set the same as above):

The bars remember the setting throughout the users browser session - hence the need to use the Animated Collapsible DIV v2.4 from Dynamic Drive. The jquery.js file is also required for the animated bar to show/hide.
