I am trying to learn more and I am trying to perform a transfer of forum software. The thing is I have two questions One is that it says installed on your server, as well as a copy of the database of the forum to be merged on your server. OK so how do I make a copy of the database? Than it says I need to You must also have the latest version of the merge system uploaded to your server as a subdirectory So do I create a subdirectory through the FTP for the new forum software? I could post these questions I suppose on the site of the new forum software that is probably what I should be doing anyways. LMAO but remember I am not all there LOLCreate a MySQL backup of the database and then upload it to whatever account you want the database restored to and we can do that for you. Then you would have both databases on the account. What are you trying to do in the end, as in what do you have now and what is the goal when you are done with the process? LMAO I did make the database backup I guess I just am not familar with what I am trying to do...I have never done it and it really doesn't matter if it goes haywire LMAO we only have 8 or 9 members on that forum and I did email them. but I still would like to do this and save the data and be able to convert it to the new forum software. So I guess I am confused. I am going to try it again I suppose. I am not sure why the post didn't show up. Well I have done it over and over again and just decided to give it up and start a new on it today. I have another project that I am focusing on and it of course is all new to me. Trying to figure out how to just have the new registers of the forum have to pay for subscription to the register. ThanksLOL, generally making a service that is often free a paid service will help you build a higher quality userbase but it could kill new signups all together. I have a few that think it would be good, to insure privacy and if that is what it does and they are willing to build a site that is up to them.
