Michael D.
We've updated our standard server status page at http://www.mddhosting.com/support/serverstatus.php with more detailed checks including SMTP, POP3, and IMAP checks and we've also now made sure that the list shows links to public uptime reports for all servers. We've even listed servers where standard checks don't apply such as VPS servers and backup servers - you can still see the public uptime reports for these servers! How come the CPU values are so high? Demeter was showing 85%, and Cypress was at 52%. I think these values used to be less than 5%. Also, I checked the "speed test" on one of the servers, and it was terrible. ~600kb down. Are these values accurate?
Michael D.
How come the CPU values are so high? Demeter was showing 85%, and Cypress was at 52%. I think these values used to be less than 5%.The values used to be between 0 and 4.0 as it wasn't CPU usage previously and was actually a LOAD representation. CPU is much easier to understand and as such we changed the page to show CPU. And to be honest, if the server was staying steady at 5% then it would be doing virtually nothing meaning it'd have almost no clients on it Also, I checked the "speed test" on one of the servers, and it was terrible. ~600kb down. Are these values accurate?I'm able to max out my connection at 20mbps down and 5mbps up on all servers - it greatly depends on your ISP connection and your route between the server and your computer. The servers are all on 100 MBPS ports and average 5~10 MBPS at any given time leaving up to 90 MBPS available for burst traffic/downloads/etc.
