Guys please do not turn this into a ticketing system. You are just slowing things down. If your server IS finished restoring, and then something doesn't work, open a TICKET.

I submitted another ticket yesterday at 9:10PM; it has languished, largely ignored. Our twenty-seven (27) MAILMAN mailing lists are missing; they do not appear in our Cpanel. These mailing lists represent a significant portion of the email which enters our organization and the proper functioning of these MAILMAN lists is critical to our company. We open for business in 1 minute and -- approximately 60 hours after this issue took hold of us -- I have nothing to tell my boss except "they're very sorry and they're working on it."

There are some 9000 customers. If everybody starts to post here his (or her) problem .... it will be a total mess.

Thanks for the estimates. (I dont know your time zone: maybe the same as my MDT). I know youre swamped with tickets, so I wont open one. Im on s1 and I see ftp is already available and one of my add-ons (oddly enough) is online but my main domain and the other add-on are getting IP errors. An oddity, TBS. Ill wait it out

Good luck, folks.

Still s1. Now ALL 3 online. Note to all reading, it is very important to refresh yer browsers cache so it doesnt keep displaying the danged error page. I forgot for about a half hour this morning and was growling.

To MDD: much gratitude, and I hope youll get some sleep and then some breakfast green chile enchiladas with egg soon.

It has been done by way of a ticket -- however -- the ticket has not been addressed. So be annoyed.

I can't describe to you how annoyed I AM, all my 8 sites are down for almost 3 days now. Google even started to through to me warnings about increased 404 errors.

KevinJones... for me there was a bit of a lag between cPanel and FTP working and the site itself coming up. Also the old 404 page is a good sign as it means your site is coming back up. Keep clearing things and if your site is bookmarked, make sure the http is typed in the browser. This was the scenario for me last night.

Thanks Interworld. I'll hang on a bit longer. As far as 404, I have never seen any other page. My reference was to the discussion about editing /cgi-sys/defaultwebpage.cgi to give a more informative message to confused users out there.

My guess would be if you are seeing 404, you are using a bookmark to a special/direct link within the domain. Have you tried www,yourdomainnamehere.com ? THAT is what would see the "technical difficulties" error page that was modified.

Well I see the problem now.

I was not using a bookmark, however:

I find that if I type in anything not in the root directory, I get the 404 - eg, hostname/folder/index.html.

But it is true, if I just type in the hostname, or hostname/index.html I will get the "SORRY" page.

However, this message is no more informative or less foreboding to users than the 404 page was:

"If you are the owner of this website, please contact your hosting provider: webmaster@waynebent.com"

I thought there was going to be something like "We know there is a problem, and we're working on it."

My website is restored and working, thank you. However my email is not working so well. I can send and receive from my own domain but can not send anything outside my domain. I'm getting a 550 error - see below for details.

Any ideas?

Thanks.
