MjrNuT
Hello, I'm looking for a little insight if anyone can provide it regarding use of Google Apps Email and vBulletin forums Email. Related thread, but I don't know his is working since its been a few month. Currently, I have my domain setup w/ a google apps account and a few users created. Mike of MDDHosting quickly implemented the CNAME and MX record changes neccessary. This was verified by DNSSTuff test. I have done some test emails whereby I send to the Google App email, call it googleapp@mydomain.com, and it gets forwarded to chosen email account. The forwarding I set via settings of googleapp@mydomain.com So now I see that works as expected. My question now is how to configure the appropriate SMTP options in vBulletin. I've run across the following link for assistance: http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer....mp;answer=13287 So in my vB panel > Email Options smtp server: smtp.gmail.com username/account name: forums@mydomain.com (set up to also forward to desired email) password: password of the above email account Set to SSL and tried with ports 25, 465, 587 I also have the Bounce Email set to: forums@mydomain.com My test for this is using the Contact Us form, which any guest can use. Can anyone shed some light on this aspect or tips in troubleshooting? Thanks
Scott
A few quick ideas for you to try: 1- Try using a "+" in place of the "@" in your username... some clients are weird and have issues with the "@". Example: scott+mygoogleapps.com instead of scott@mygoogleapps.com 2- Try port 26 and no SSL. As for running the SSL, I think you have the correct ports, but then you get into verifying certificate identities and such and I can't really help with that. Best of luck,- Scott Hello, I'm looking for a little insight if anyone can provide it regarding use of Google Apps Email and vBulletin forums Email. Michael D.
As of cPanel 11.25 you should now be able to fully configure Google Apps yourself from inside of cPanel (but we're still more than happy to do it for you). I'll try and set up a short tutorial to demonstrate how to do it after the holidays
