Reseller

Hey Mike,

First I love small companies. Looks like you have a good one going. So I have some questions about reseller hosting.

I assume I can start on the smallest plan and move up as needed? is this move hard or require downtime.

I assume it's a VPS not a shared server?

Full root access?

is CloudLinux similar to Centos6 64 bit?

Is the Cpanel/WHM upgradeable by me? 11.54.15 is out now.

Mysql is upgradable to MariaDB?

If I don't want WHMCS can I use Blesta? if yes can fully integrate it to my WHM?

Can I use an outsourced helpdesk for first line OR do you all include that?

If I pay the entire year and quit say 6 months in will you all prorate a refund base on the monthly cost naturally?

If I outgrow reseller what changes with dedicated?

I may have more later...

Thanks

Hi Brent,

Thanks for your questions! In the future, it will typically be faster to ask such questions of our sales department directly. Simply open a ticket with that department, or email sales@MDDHosting.com

Mike has been very busy, so I wanted to jump in and get you some answers. You'll find them inline below:

Absolutely. Upgrading between different levels of the same plan type is always very easy and requires no downtime. You can either contact our sales team, or do the upgrade within our billing site. Upgrading to a different type of plan typically requires a server transfer, and would need to be discussed when you are ready to do that upgrade.

Our reseller accounts are not placed on a dedicated VPS, as they are intended for new resellers who are just getting started or who don't wish to deal with their own server or VPS. This means your account is placed on a server that we also use for other clients. You absolutely could sign up for a VPS plan instead, if that is what you are looking for.

Full root access?

On a reseller plan, no. If you signed up for a VPS, yes.

is CloudLinux similar to Centos6 64 bit?

Yes. CloudLinux is more of an addon on top of CentOS than it is a different OS.

Is the Cpanel/WHM upgradeable by me? 11.54.15 is out now.

On a reseller plan, no. The cPanel/WHM install is global to all clients and managed by us. On a VPS, you would be able to control the version if you desired.

Mysql is upgradable to MariaDB?

We already run MariaDB on our reseller servers. You could chose between MySQL and MariaDB if you went with a VPS.

If I don't want WHMCS can I use Blesta? if yes can fully integrate it to my WHM?

We provide a license for WHMCS that you are free to use. You are not obligated to do so. If you would prefer different software, that is entirely up to you, however we wouldn't be able to provide a license for it. For instructions on configuring it with WHM, you should contact the developer or refer to their documentation.

Can I use an outsourced helpdesk for first line OR do you all include that?

We don't handle support requests from your clients. You're free to handle it however you would prefer.

If I pay the entire year and quit say 6 months in will you all prorate a refund base on the monthly cost naturally?

Prorated refunds are typically available after the initial 30 day refund period. There are a few provisions in our ToS, such as your account being in good standing, and the proration being calculated less any promotions or discounts.

If I outgrow reseller what changes with dedicated?

It depends on how you prefer to grow. Some of our clients opt to upgrade to a VPS and host their clients there. Others prefer to add a second reseller account so they have more capacity, but no other changes. A VPS, like a dedicated server, would give you much more control over the environment you offer to your clients.

If you have any additional questions, you can ask them here, but I do recommend contacting our sales department for an expedited reply. Email sales@MDDHosting.com or visit https://www.mddhosting.com/support/submitticket.php?step=2&deptid=2

Thanks for your interest, Brent!
