    What about password-protected directories that I renamed? It appears that CPanel was smart enough to keep them protected, but I noticed that the protected directories have htaccess files in them that have the old path coded in them when the directories were initially protected. Is this code just incidental?

    That's so true. Having 24/7 support from a typical hosting company is like having a diner right down the street from your house that is open 24 hours, but has really sh*tty food.

    It would usually be for a full day, but I'm not sure if that is still long enough to get hit with SEO penalties and Google deletions. I will probably try the "Forward all IP addresses except my own" option.
