[Completed] Fresco - Account Moves

Hello,
In order to increase long-term stability we are moving numerous accounts off of the Fresco server. This will likely cause some slowness this morning as the accounts transfer, however, this will only last as long as the transfers are running which shouldn't be more than a couple of hours. The end result will be a server with less overall load meaning increased stability.
The issue with the Fresco server is not the sheer number of accounts or their CPU usage, but the amount of disk reads and writes those accounts are doing. The hard drives in the Fresco server are simply having a hard time keeping up which is why there are intermittent slowdowns periodically and then when the backups run at night it really causes some slowness.
If you have any questions, let us know. We will update this thread once the process is completed and will be notifying customers as their accounts are moved.

Some users in the forum I'm an admin for are experiencing some kind of rollback, not being able to see some recent posts, while others are able to. Is this some possible consequence for the transfer process or should I be looking at somewhere else?

Yes, this "rollback" is caused when someone posts to your forums on the old server, and then gets updated DNS info for the new server which doesn't have the new posts. To avoid this, set your forum to maintenance mode to prevent posts between when your account starts being moved and finishes being moved.

At this time all transfers have concluded and we look forward to Fresco being more stable.

Usually DNS updates nearly instantly but there are always a few who don't get the update quickly. If you need assistance putting the forum on the old server into maintenance mode (so that the new server stays online for you) open a ticket and ask for me and I'll be happy to help with that.

It won't be needed, but I appreciate the offer.
Also, thanks for the account moving. We were experiencing slowdowns quite frequently and started wondering what was happening.
