Is mod_security disabled?

Thinking of purchasing a certain wordpress theme and it says I need to have that disabled in order to use timthumbs.

We do not use mod_security, however, I suggest making sure that the version of TimThumb included in the theme is up to date as there is a vulnerability in TimThumb that will cause your account to be compromised and, as a result, suspended:
