Is Gzip automatically enabled on shared hosting?
I've searched the forum and the only relevant posts I could find were dated 2008.
When I check my sites with a couple of online Gzip testers ('www.gidnetwork.com/tools/gzip-test.php' and 'www.whatsmyip.org/http_compression/') they tell me that Gzip is not enabled.

It is on by default, yes, either provide a domain name here or if you'd like to keep it private open a support ticket.
